A 4,200-ft drilling program is continuing at Canper Resources’ Katrine-Ossian Twp. gold property in the Larder Lake area of northeastern Ontario, known formerly as the Walsh-Katrine mine.
To date, gold values have been obtained from the holes drilled around the mine area where a shaft was sunk to 575 ft with lateral work on four levels. These holes were shallow, ranging from 200 ft to 500 ft.
Among the results are hole 5 which intersected 1.53 oz gold per ton over 2.5 ft and 0.12 oz over 1.5 ft. Hole 6 returned 0.509 oz over 1 ft and 0.2236 oz over 3 ft. Other results include Hole 2 which returned 0.2729 oz over 2 ft and 0.2565 oz over 2.5 ft.
Canper says the results confirm the continuity and extension of the mineralization which is being traced over a length of 2,000 ft and related to a series of quartz veins within a felsic intrusive.
An additional deep hole to 1,000 ft is being drilled and another hole will be deepened in order to determine the down-dip extension of the mineralized zones, the company says.
In other company news, Canper has negotiated the purchase of a 14 claim property located about four miles north of the recently announced Syngold Exploration/Kidd Creek discovery at Owl Creek West.
