Gold issues are leading the major markets and some of the euphoria is spreading to COATS traded issues. Of interest to Carolin Mines shareholders; that issue, which was delisted by the Ontario Securities Commission several months ago, has resurfaced in New York trading over-the-counter. The la st available quote was $3-$3.50. Carolin operated a money losing gold mine in B.C., which was plagued with problems from opening day in 1982. The mine was shutdown in 1985.
Bunker Hill Resources came from nowhere, trading to 20 cents -25 cents . The dormant trader controls a base metals property north of Timmins, Ont., which was optioned to Kidd Creek Mines. Sheldon Larder Mine was also busier, trading at 25 cents -30 cents . The company controls several key claims beside Kerr Addison Mines’ Virginiatown gold mine, east of Larder Lake, Ont. Several major exploration projects are in progress in the area, funded by flow-through dollars.
To the north in the Harker- Holloway area, which will become a major gold producing area in 1988, courtesy of American Barrick Resources and its new Holt- McDermott mine, Grandad Resources is doing some work. The issue closed at 85 cents -95 cents .
Minefinders Corp, which is busy with exploration in Quebec, advanced to $1.10-$1.30.
