50 YEARS AGO –FEBRUARY, 1937– PROFITS HIGHER AT BRITANNIA

In view of the increase in the export refinery price of copper above 11 1/2 7inches, the Britannia Mining and Smelting Co., as of January 16, commenced the payment to its employees of a “copper bonus” at the rate of 25 cents a shift , it is learned from the general manager, C. P. Browning. The profit- sharing action of the company is the second increase in wages this year, wages higher that $3.75 a shift having been raised 50 cents last August, and those less than

** $3.75 having been raised 35 cents . **
