Muscocho Explorations says a crosscut from the recently- completed ramp intersected the main gold-bearing zone at the 300-ft level on the Magnacon property at Mishibishu Lake near Wawa, Ont.
Muscocho, with a 25% interest in the joint venture, is operator on the proje ct. Flanagan McAdam Resources holds 50% and Windarra Minerals holds 25%.
The principal quartz vein is described as 14 ft wide in the crosscut with visible gold throughout the vein and in places on either side of it over a total mineralized width of 40 ft.
Two other gold-bearing veins were intersected on the way to the main zone and these appear to be branches off the main structure, Muscocho says. They are seven and three feet wide, respectively, and both also contain visible gold. Samples have been cut from all zones and sent out for assay.
The crosscut is now being completed and drifting along the gold veins will begin immediately, the company says. An underground drilling program will also start soon to explore and outline in detail the gold-bearing structures.
The objective of the current program is to prove up sufficient mineable reserves for a production decision this summer.
