50 YEARS AGO –FEBRUARY, 1937– LEITCH 1st BRICK SOON; NEW LEVELS

In conversation with Karl J. Springer, president of Leitch Gold Mines, The Northern Miner learned that the first gold brick from the new mill should be poured around the middle of the month. Mill tonnage already has been worked up to 60 tons daily and it is expected that the mill can readily handle 100 tons if desired.

* * * A 3-compartment shaft has been sunk to a depth of 550 ft, with levels established at the 125-, 225-, 325-, 425- and 525-ft horizons.
