Radisson Mining Ressources says it has discovered a new gold-bearing zone on its Douay property in northwestern Quebec’s Casa Berardi area.
A diamond drill hole located near the centre of the property has intersected a zone of intense quartz- carbonate sericite-fuchsite alteration over a width of more than 60 m. Mineralization consists of disseminated pyrite as well as visible gold.
An IP survey detected this anomalous zone, the company says, and has defined it for a length of 1,000 m.
A single hole has been drilled in the new zone and assay results, although not yet complete, have indicated a gold-bearing intersection of economic potential, according to the company. One intersection returned about 0.17 oz gold per ton over 7.7 ft while other sections assayed between 0.01 oz and 0.05 oz.
About 5,000 ft of drilling will be completed on the new zone by the end of February.
