Grange Gold and Asamera drilling U.S. gold bet

Joint venture partners Grange Gold Corp. and Asamera Inc. are undertaking a 5,000-ft underground drilling program at the Lovitt gold mine in Wenatchee, Wash. The companies are joint owners of the Lovitt Mining Co. which in turn has a 70% interest in the former producing gold mine.

Approximately 12,000-ft of surface drilling was completed early in l987, testing targets along the trend of the old mine workings. Although this drilling was generally disappointing, the lower grade reserves adjacent to the mine workings were not tested. The 1,250 adit level has been rehabilitated allowing underground access to these areas.

The property, adjoining Asamera’s Cannon Mine, produced over 400,000 oz gold from 1949 to 1967. Two blocks of low grade gold mineralization were not mined during the previous operations.
