Changes announced in senior raks by Placer Dome

Senior appointments by Placer Dome Inc. include some changes over those announced at the time of the formation of the big new gold company.

A joint statement from Chairman Fraser Fell and President and Chief Executive Officer John Walton says Anthony J. Petrina has been named executive vice-president and chief operating officer. C. Henry Brehaut is appointed senior vice-president, Canadian operations, W. Anthony Triggs senior vice-president, project development, and Lawrence Reinertson, senior vice-president exploration.

The company says Mr Petrina, formerly senior vice-president and chief operating officer (Placer), now assumes over-all responsibility for Placer Dome’s mining and mine development activities, and Mr Brehaut, formerly senior vice- president and chief operating officer (Dome), takes on over-all responsibility for Placer Dome’s eight mining operations in Canada.

Mr Triggs was formerly vice- president project development of Placer Dome. He will be responsible for evaluation and development of new mining properties. Mr Reinertson, as senior vice-president exploration, has responsibility for the company’s world-wide exploration program.

As previously announced, John Racich is senior vice-president and chief financial officer, and John Hick is senior vice-president corporate and secretary.
