Several rich intersections have been pulled by Canamax Resources from the Break zone on the Ketza River gold property in B.C. Pacific Trans-Ocean Resources shares the property equally with Canamax.
Hole 246 cut an 11.7-ft section of oxide material grading 0.677 oz gold per ton. Hole 251 intersected three sections, the thickest of which was 22.5 ft assaying 1 oz. The remaining two sections of core included 14.3 ft and 14.7 ft grading 0.5 and 0.62 oz respectively.
Several other holes cut equally impressive intersections such as hole 262 which yielded 19.5 ft grading 0.687 oz. The Break zone is located 1,300 ft east of the Peel and Ridge zones which are being developed for production at a rate of 350 tons per day. Gold production is scheduled to begin in 1988.
The Break zone drill data, combined with earlier drill results, will be used in a preliminary reserve calculation. Initial results suggest the average grade will exceed the 0.52-oz average of the Peel zone. An underground test is being planned for 1988.
