Villeneuve gets Sturgeon option

Villeneuve Resources has signed an optioned agreement giving the company the right to earn a 100% interest in 93 claims near Sturgeon Lake in northwestern Ontario. Located near the former producing St Anthony mine, the property will be the subject of a drill program designed to test several surface showings. On the Davidson Carr showing, a mineralized zone has been exposed by trenching for 150 ft. Sampling by Villeneuve has returned assays up to 1.95 oz gold per ton across a 2.25-ft section of trench. The zone will be drilled in January.

Another promising target is on the Powell prospect which covers a quartz zone mineralized with chalcopyrite. Trenched for 350 ft, the zone has seen limited underground exploration by previous operators. Grab samples from a surface muck pile have assayed up to 1.46 oz gold per ton. In Nevada, Villeneuve has purchased an 100% interest in 498 claims consisting of 6 properties, in Nevada.
