Silverside finds high-grade veins

Twin parallel high-grade veins composed of plate and dendritic native silver have been discovered by Silverside Resources on its Cobalt property in northeastern Ontario.

One of the veins is estimated to run in the thousands of ounces per ton category and the entire zone is estimated to yield an average grade of approximately 300 ounces per ton over mining width.

Exploration drifting and raising on four out of the five vein systems has established commercial ore grade silver products. Milling negotiations are in the final stages and a production decision is imminent.

The project is a joint venture between Silverside and International Platinum.

On its Kirkland Lake, Ont., Garrison gold property, optioned from Kerr Addison Gold Mines and involving 88 claims, Silverside has encountered significant results. Diamond drilling involving two machines has uncovered a zone 38.2 ft in width with test results of 0.17 oz per ton.

Mineralization of the main zone is centred around a 40-ft-wide, steeply dipping shear zone along which ore grade gold mineralization has been encountered over a distance of 3,800 feet and is open along strike. Drilling is in progress to test this large target.

In addition, a number of induced polarization and electro-magnetic anomalies off the main zone will be tested.

In other news, Silverside has acquired a 100% interest in a group of five patented mining claims located in Garrison Twp. The claims are contiguous to, and located to the northwest of, the 88 claims optioned from Kerr Addison.

An anomaly has been outlined by geophysics and diamond drilling was scheduled to commence last week. Previous drilling on the property had intersected 0.233 oz over 14 feet.
