Newhawk drill hole really high grade

A spectacular drill hole has been reported from the UTC zone at Newhawk Gold Mines (TSE) Sulphurets property north of Stewart, B.C. The zone was discovered earlier this year during a deep test in the West zone where most of the property’s reserves are located.

Hole No 88-289 returned 30 ft of 11.9 oz gold and 45.8 oz silver while No 88- 291 produced two intersections, one grading 0.21 oz gold and 15.8 oz silver over 6 ft and the other 0.21 oz gold and 0.6 oz silver across 9.2 ft. The former was 400 ft updip from 88-279 which yielded 13.8 ft grading 0.54 oz gold and 6.6 ft of 1.2 oz gold.

President Donald McLeod says the West zone decline is being extended 50 m vertical so the UTC zone can be explored from a new level.

An airstrip at the foot of the Knipple Glacier is now fully operational and fixed wing aircraft service is available from Terrace to the mine site. However, routine transportation of supplies to the property is by road and barge. McLeod confirms that an extensive underground exploration program has been formulated for the winter months; details will be reported when it has been approved by a joint management committee, he states.
