Black Hawk drills

Drilling has resumed with three rigs at Black Hawk Mining’s (TSE) Minago nickel project in Manitoba. The program will follow up the best results received to date on the property. Last winter, Black Hawk drilling intersected 100 ft. in hole 50 grading 1.5% nickel. Another strong section came in hole 49 which intersected 55 ft. assaying 2.1% nickel.

The current drill program is designed to test for the deposit at a depth of 2,000 ft. According to Black Hawk, if the program is successful, a preliminary estimate of reserves could exceed 10 million tons of 1.1-1.2% material.

Although grades are somewhat lower than those found in typical Canadian underground nickel mines, initial metallurgical testing indicates that a concentrate grading 20% nickel can be produced at an 80% recovery, Black Hawk says.
