Kazakhstan plans uranium sales

Former Soviet Union nation Kazakhstan plans to start selling its uranium, with the International Atomic Energy Agency helping to co-ordinate sales.

The republic is believed to account for about 30% of the former Soviet Union’s uranium reserves. Two other former Soviet Union members, Russia and Tajikistan, are also thought to have 30% of those reserves, with the Ukraine accounting for about 10%.
