Kimberlite trio found by Crystal

With the discovery of three new kimberlites in late 1992, the number of kimberlite pipes intersected in the Lake Superior area of the U.S. (Michigan and Wisconsin) now totals 15, reports Australia-based Hunter Resources.

Hunter says a joint venture consisting of its subsidiary, Crystal Mining, as well as Ashton Mining and The Dow Chemical Co., has approved a US$1-million exploration program for the area this year.

The program will include till sampling, to test for kimberlite fragments and indicator minerals around selected airborne anomalies, and drilling of the newly discovered kimberlites.
