New partner for peat project

A letter of intent to participate in a peat fuel pilot plant project northwest of Thunder Bay, Ont., has been signed by the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation with Peat Resources (CDN).

The first step in First Nation’s involvement will be a technical and financial review of the program, followed by the negotiation of terms and conditions of First Nation’s participation, Peat Resources says. The company says the federal government’s Industry Science and Technology Canada has approved a grant of $39,000 for the review.
