LETTERS TO THE EDITOR — Criticism is not warranted

I was amazed by the article “Asbestos report is challenged” (T.N.M., March 7/94) and concluded that possibly your staff is biased on the asbestos controversy.

You have cited a group of “professors” from Simon Fraser University’s school of computer science as challenging and criticizing the report by the Health Effect Institute — Asbestos Research.

I think the Canadian mining industry has enough enemies abroad affiliated with the “green protectionism group” without encouraging some biased pseudo-scholars to add to the burden.
