MINING IN MEXICO — PROJECT ROUNDUP — Mexican-Japanese joint

e Tizapa project in Mexico state is being developed by a Mexican-Japanese joint venture.

Minas Penoles and Dowa Mining incorporated Compania Minera Tizapa last year to bring the polymetallic property into production. Mining could be under way as early as May, 1994.

The companies expect to have to pay about US$32 million in development costs. Exploration work by COREMI (the Spanish acronym for the Mexican Resources Board) has identified five million tonnes with gold, silver, zinc, lead, copper and iron credits.
