Juneau to host 1995 conference

The Alaska Miners Association will host a 3-day conference in Juneau next year focusing on mining in the future.

The theme of Conference Juneau 1995, scheduled for April 19-21, will be “From the Klondike to the A-J mine and Ft. Knox: finding a future for the mineral industry in 21st century America.”

Conference organizers have two objectives:

n development and environmental interests are engaged in contentious debate, the consequence of which is that the mining industry is going offshore in the search for developable mineral resources. Is there a middle ground that these seemingly incompatible interests can occupy that will allow for a viable mining industry in North America?

n to present an overview of Alaska/Canada geologic exploration, mine development and mining technology for the next century.

The conference will also feature a trade show.
