A government grant worth $241,050 will help finance a feasibility study of a spodumene mine and a lithium carbonate plant in Quebec.
Montreal-listed partners Charlim Explorations and Wrightbar Mines estimate the study will cost $482,100. The mine is north of Chibougamau and the plant is in the Jonquiere region.
A $300,000 mineralogical test is being carried out at the Centre de Recherches Minerales du Quebec. A continuous process test, to transform the spodumene into lithium carbonate, will be made on a bulk sample. Lithium carbonate is used by aluminum producers. Lithium itself is used in the production of batteries.
