Channel sampling on the Number 9 vein at the Gordon Lake property northeast of Yellowknife, N.W.T., continues to yield high-grade assays.
Keylock Resources (ASE) reports that samples have run as high as 0.62 oz. gold per ton over 6.5 ft. and ranged between 0.14 and 0.62 oz. over widths of between 6 and 12.5 ft.
The Number 9 vein is exposed over a 40-ft. strike length and has an average width of 8.5 ft. Previous drilling in 1988 defined 70,000 tons of mineralization averaging 0.6 oz. to a depth of 700 ft. The deposit is open at depth.
In addition, two other veins — the Union and the Main — also exhibit gold mineralization and bear similarities to the nearby Consolidated Discovery mine.
Keylock is considering further exploration, including a drill program to test the three veins at depth.
