MSV increases quarterly output

Second-quarter production at the Copper Rand and Portage projects near Chibougamau, Que., increased by 45%, compared with the same period in 1993, MSV Resources (ME) reports.

Quarterly output of 104,069 tons yielded 10,011 oz. gold and 2.6 million lb. copper.

For the first six months of 1994, MSV processed 280,615 tons yielding 27,342 oz. gold and 6.6 million lb. copper.

MSV entered production in March, 1993, shortly after acquiring the properties. Meanwhile, the company has acquired a 55% interest in the Corner Bay Inner Block copper property near Chibougamau.
