Salt Lake City-based Centurion Mines (NASDAQ) reports a drill-inferred geologic reserve of 600 million tons grading 0.28% copper (3.4 billion lb.) for its South Tintic project near Eureka, Utah.
Independent consultants arrived at the evaluation based on six widely spaced reverse-circulation drill holes and a cutoff of 0.20%. The porphyry, copper-mineralized zone, known as the SWT, measures 8,000 ft. long by 4,000 ft. wide. Hole STD-6, drilled to a depth of 2,959 ft., averaged 0.23% copper over 1,854 ft. More drilling is planned in the near future. On a separate portion of the property, a reverse-circulation program is intersecting disseminated, enargite-type, copper-silver mineralization. The zone is in the Treasure Hill area, several miles north of the SWT. An additional 10,000 ft. are being drilled.
