Minefinders active at La Bolsa prospect

Reconnaissance sampling at Minefinders’ (VSE) La Bolsa property, in Mexico’s Sonora state, has revealed the presence of altered rocks with quartz stockworks and anomalous gold values ranging up to 0.3 oz. gold per ton.

The project is on the U.S.-Mexico border, near the old Ruby gold mining camp in Arizona.

To date, five gold-bearing areas have been located in rhyolitic dykes and other felsic intrusives. The main anomaly, which has a strike length of 2,600 ft. and ranges from 400 to 800 ft. in width, is characterized by gold values greater than 300 parts per billion (ppb). This anomaly contains higher-grade zones which have yielded gold values of up to 6,110 ppb (0.18 oz.). A follow-up program of geological mapping, prospecting and sampling has been initiated to define the extent of the mineralization.
