A drilling program is under way on the Marta gold-silver property owned by Consolidated Ramrod (VSE) in northwestern Spain. The program is testing a gold-bearing quartz vein system known as Las Llagas zone. Assays are awaited from the first hole which cut a 75-ft. wide zone of quartz veins containing arsenopyrite and pyrite. The mineralized zone is situated about 30-90 ft. below an outcrop which yields grab samples up to 6.0 oz. gold per ton. A reconnaissance geochemical program has outlined six strong geochemical anomalies elsewhere on the property.
The gold-bearing vein systems of the Marta property are hosted in altered Ordovician-age graphitic schists in close proximity to granitic intrusives.
