Golden Marlin plans follow-up at gold bet

Saskatoon-based Golden Marlin Resources (VSE) is planning a follow-up exploration program on the Northwest Gold joint venture property, near Yellowknife, N.W.T. Phase one of the program will include detailed ground magnetic work and five diamond drill holes, the company says.

Marlin recently received check assays, ranging in grade from 4.2 grams to 22.5 grams per tonne, on several samples taken during last winter’s exploration program. The best original assay was 7.2 grams per tonne over one metre.

Lying underneath Great Slave Lake, the gold property hosts an underwater extension of the Yellowknife volcanic belt, which has produced over 320 tonnes of gold over the past 50 years.
