The Rochester mine of Coeur d’Alene Mines (NYSE) has received an environmental award from the Nevada Association of Conservation Districts.
The award, for “distinguished service to conservation,” was the first to be given to a mining operation. The mine was honored for developing and improving wildlife habitat in the northwestern part of the state. Situated near Lovelock, Nev., the mine produced 5.9 million oz. silver and 66,000 oz. gold last year.
