Drilling on the Crown Jewel project in northeastern Washington State continues to return encouraging results. Battle Mountain Gold (NYSE) is earning a 51% interest in the project from Crown Resources (VSE) in return for US$10 million in cash as well as funding the project to production.
Battle Mountain’s drilling has been predominantly infill, designed to bring previous drilling down to a 50-ft. spacing.
Ninety holes of the current program have been completed with the majority made up of infill holes. Battle Mountain has received permits for about 150 stepout holes to test for extensions of mineralization.
Geological reserves at Crown Jewel were reported as 8.3 million tons grading 0.10 oz. gold per ton after last year’s drilling program.
