Eastmain drilling at Clearwater

Eastmain Resources (ESTR-C) and the Quebec Crown corporation Soquem have resumed drilling at the Clearwater project in the Eastmain River greenstone belt in northwestern Quebec.

The drilling is intended to outline additional resources at the gold deposit, where earlier work by Westmin Resources (WMI-T) outlined a resource of 270,000 tonnes grading 6.1 grams per tonne. Subsequent drilling on the G and I structures at Clearwater has indicated a resource at a grade of about 19 grams per tonne.

Soquem is operating the project and is earning a half interest at Clearwater by spending $2 million on exploration.

The company has recently received $500,000 in a flow-through financing, with the funds to be used for drilling on Clearwater and on Eastmain’s Akweskwa project near Timmins, Ont. The Toronto Stock Exchange has conditionally approved a listing for Eastmain.
