Newfoundland conference to highlight Voisey discovery

The potential for economic diversification in Newfoundland, as made possible by the Voisey Bay nickel-copper-cobalt discovery, will be addressed in a conference, Oct. 25-28 in St. John’s.

The event is being sponsored by the Newfoundland branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland.

Entitled Our Natural Resources: Creating Opportunities in Service, Infrastructure and High-Tech Applications, the meeting will be held at the Hotel Newfoundland in St. John’s, in conjunction with the annual review of activities of the Newfoundland Department of Natural Resources’ Mines Sector.
