Altai explores Philippine project

Junior Altai Resources (ATI-T) is testing the potential of the Mabulao copper-gold property in the past-producing Paracale gold camp, 200 km south of Manila in the Philippines.

The camp has recorded production of 4.3 million oz. gold.

The project was previously drilled in the 1960s, and select results from this work include: 97.56 metres of 0.45% copper, 0.18% molybdenum and 1.26 grams gold per tonne; 101.19 metres of 0.35% copper, 0.086% moly and 1.85 grams gold and; 162 metres of 0.27% copper, 0.03% moly and 1.53 grams gold.

Altai’s program will include pitting, trenching, tunnelling and drilling. The company will also test an epithermal gold prospect elsewhere on the property.

In addition to its copper and gold potential, the property is believed to be prospective for skarn-type iron-copper, lead-zinc-silver-gold deposits.

Altai has seven other mineral properties in the Philippines.
