CIM luncheon will shed light on Cameco

The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum (CIM) resumes its speakers’ luncheons on Sept. 19, when the guest of honor will be Bernard Michel, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Cameco.

Michel will speak on Cameco’s Kumtor gold project in the Russian republic of Kyrgyzstan, placing emphasis on the geographical, logistical, political and cultural challenges involved in developing a high-altitude mine in a remote location.

He will also review Cameco’s activities in uramium, its core business.

The luncheon will take place at 12 noon on the fifth floor of the Ontario Club, Commerce Court South, in Toronto.
