Two zones of gold mineralization have been outlined on the Duquesne West property near Rouyn-Noranda, Que.
Limited drilling on the deep Fox zone enabled Globex Mining Enterprises (ME) to calculate a preliminary geological resource of 514,442 tonnes averaging 13.19 grams gold per tonne over 3.9 metres.
Six widely spaced holes intersected mineralization at the contact between a silicified, pyritic breccia and an altered porphyry. Gold is also found within the altered porphyry.
A second geological resource, consisting of 128,000 tonnes averaging 7.8 grams over 2.5 metres, has been inferred from three holes drilled on the shallow Shaft zone.
Drilling on both zones is attempting to determine both the down-plunge and on-strike extent of the mineralized zones.
The Canadian-based subsidiary of Santa Fe Pacific Gold (NYSE) can earn a half interest in the property by spending $3.8 million on exploration and providing a bankable feasibility study.
Globex has a diversified portfolio of North American gold and base-metal properties.
Most of the junior’s Canadian properties are in Quebec; however, Globex has gold and copper prospects in the southwestern U.S.
