The Beep Mat Syndicate, a consortium of exploration and geophysical firms, has trenched a Beep Mat conductor in Berthiaume Twp., Que., confirming a mineralized zone 35 metres long and 4 to 5 metres wide.
GeoNova Explorations (ME) reports that chip samples from the mineralized zone contained 1.5 grams gold per tonne over 5 metres and 1.3 grams over 4 metres.
Grab samples assayed at 47.9 grams and 17.35 grams per tonne, and blast fragments from the trenches averaged 4.7 grams. Drill targets will be defined by electromagnetic and magnetic surveys.
The showing is in a banded iron formation that appears on magnetic maps as a weak magnetic high about 4 km long. The gold occurs in
pyrite-pyrrhotite-quartz veinlets in an amphibole-garnet rock typical of metamorphosed silicate iron formation.
The syndicate includes: GeoNova and Consolidated Oasis Resources (ME); Freewest Resources Canada (TSE); Soquem; and the geophysical firm Exploreurs-Innovateurs de Quebec.
