Diamond-producer Redaurum (RRK-T) has acquired exclusive prospecting rights to ground adjacent to the producing Orapa diamond mine of De Beers Consolidated Mines in Botswana.
The company was granted a 3-year licence over the area (962.5 sq. km), which shares a common boundary in the south with Orapa.
Redaurum views the ground as prospective for the discovery of diamond-bearing kimberlite and deposits of alluvial diamonds. It is believed these diamonds may have been eroded and transported from a cluster of pipes which includes Orapa and Letlhakane. The work program will focus on targeting buried paleo-river channels, in addition to sampling for primary kimberlite sources.
