Noranda explores La Grande Nord

A geophysical program by Noranda (NOR-T) will explore polymetallic showings at its La Grande Nord property in Quebec.

Previous work, including trenching and grab samples, at the 330-sq-km property, near James Bay, identified five showings including: 3.6 grams gold per tonne and 241 grams silver per tonne, plus 10% copper, over 1 metre at Girard-Dupras; 5.7 grams silver and 1.2% copper over 2.75 metres at Breche; and 2.86% copper over 2 metres at Canard.

Grab samples taken from the Sommet and La Digue showings returned 5.7% copper and 1000 grams silver and 10.63 grams gold, respectively.

Noranda can acquire a 50% interest from Virginia Gold Mines (VIA-M) by spending $2.5 million in exploration over five years, and by making staged payments totalling $200,000.
