Alcoa cited by Hungarian mag

A Hungarian business magazine has given its “corporate citizenship” award to the Alcoa-Kofem fabricated aluminum plant in Szekesfehervar for its work in the local community.

Figyelo magazine commends Alcoa and the Alcoa Foundation for supporting some 200 community projects in the area.

The Alcoa Foundation has pledged $2.7 million to non-profit local projects since 1993, when Aloca bought then-state-owned Light Metal Work of Szekesfehervar.

Alcoa-Kofem produces extrusions and rolling ingots, flat-rolled products, automotive structures, truck bodies, plastic closures, wire harnesses, and wheels for trucks, trailers and buses. Alcoa has more than 5,000 employees in Hungary at five plants.
