Brett licence approved

The government of El Salvador has issued an exploration licence covering the El Potosi gold mine to Vancouver-based Brett Resources (BRN-V). The new licence was issued in conformance with a new Mining Law in El Salvador.

El Potosi, which shut down in 1952, has a small high-grade gold reserve of 13,000 tonnes grading 19.5 grams gold per tonne in a volcanic-hosted system of epithermal quartz veins. The vein system has been traced for 3,000 metres on surface, with grab samples returning up to 119 grams gold per tonne and one chip sample recording 26.5 grams across 3.9 metres.

The El Potosi permit area is about 40 km southeast of the El Dorado project, held by Dayton Mining (DAY-T). Dayton recently announced plans to merge with Pacific Rim Mining (PFG-T) in order to fund further exploration on El Dorado.
