Amblin busy at Lyndhurst

Junior Amblin Resources (AX-A) is encouraged by drill results from its Lyndhurst copper property, a past producer near Rouyn-Noranda, Que.

In late March, a 1,199-metre hole was drilled in an attempt to intersect a deep, borehole pulse electromagnetic (EM) target identified from earlier work. At 101 metres, the depth at which the anomaly was thought to occur, drill crews intersected 0.5 metre grading 2.6% copper.

Borehole pulse EM has since confirmed the deep anomaly, locating it east of the deep Amblin drill hole. Results indicate the presence of an easterly plunging conductor that is open downdip and that passes about 50 metres below the a hole previously drilled by Noranda.

Amblin plans to wedge the Noranda drill hole in an attempt to intersect the conductor. The casing for the hole is in good condition at the surface, Amblin reports, and crews are preparing to re-enter the hole and set the wedge.

The property contains a large sodium depletion-potassium enrichment anomaly in felsic volcanic rocks. Such conditions are considered favorable for the formation of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits. Sulphide zones containing copper, zinc, gold and silver have already been identified in this anomalous alteration zone.

The property comprises 175 claims, or 3,639 ha.
