Anmercosa Exploration, a subsidiary of South African-based Anglo American, has defined five gold exploration targets in Tanzania from a database provided by joint-venture partner Serengeti Diamonds (SGD-V).
The airborne geophysical data supplied by Serengeti consisted of 1.2 million line km of field magnetic and spectral radiometric surveys, none of which has been subjected to modern computer interpretation.
Serengeti holds a 25% interest in the joint-venture company; Anmercosa holds the remainder, and is responsible for funding all exploration.
The partners have applied for two new prospecting and four reconnaissance licences in the area.
