Red Lake-Sun Valley announces $1 million drilling program

A $1-million winter underground drilling program has been announced by Red Lake-Sun Valley Resources for its Blaine Cty., Idaho, silver and gold project. The company says funding for the program is being arranged with a European financial group.

The Johnson mine property is located on one of the company’s two blocks of property in the state. A bulk sample taken from the walls of the mine adit for assay at the Cominco smelter at Trail, B.C., gave values of 75 oz silver per ton, 32% lead and gold and zinc values.

In preparation for winter drilling, the company says it recently spent $50,000 shoring up the adit and retimbering the mine. It had previously spent $500,000 drilling the mine and on assessment and other work.

Red Lake-Sun Valley recently announced that drilling programs are under way on two other properties, at Red Lake in northwestern Ontario with joint-venture partner Interquest Resources, and in the Casa Berardi area with joint-venture partner Noranda Inc.
