Ontario releases publication

The Ontario government has published Mineral Sector Profile, which is part of an overall effort attract mineral investment.

The government hopes the publication will encourage the production of geological information, improve access to mining-related information, and attract funding for research.

“The Ontario government’s mining and exploration incentives shine a spotlight on our province as an excellent venue for exploration and development investment,” says Vivienne Cot, president of the Ontario Prospectors Association.

The announcement was made at the annual convention of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, held in Toronto.

In other news, the government will help foster a better understanding of the mineral exploration and mining sequence among First Nation communities by investing up to $20,000 in the development of a glossary of mining and exploration terminology translated into three native languages.
