Gold values of 0.62 oz gold per ton and 0.31 oz were obtained from grab samples taken to check an earlier set of sampling results from Chesbar Resources’ 8-claim, optioned property in Yeo Twp. in northern Ontario, the company reports. The earlier sampling produced high gold values from four different veins on the main showing.
Chesbar says it will initiate a drilling program on the property. The Yeo Twp. bet is situated three miles west of the Chester Twp. gold prospect being explored by Chesbar.
At the Chester Twp. property, where Chesbar is earning a 60% interest from Murgold Resources, the decline ramp is reported to have advanced 3,100 ft, to a vertical depth of 400 ft.
Chesbar reports a multi-level exploration program is under way. On the new 150-ft level, crosscutting to No 3 and 3A veins is complete and exploratory drifting is being started. Drifting on the original 200-ft level is continuing and a crosscut on the 300-ft level has begun.
Lateral exploration on the 400-ft horizon will start as soon as some current underground drilling is complete. This work will undercut a section in the old Strathmore workings where drift sampling at the 85-ft level averaged 0.74 oz across three feet and a 656-ton bulk sample averaged 0.34 oz, the company reports.
