PLACER DOME INC. — The company and its Australian subsidiary, Placer Pacific Ltd., of Sydney, have named A.L. (Alf) Paton as chairman effective May 1. L.C. (Lawrie) Reinertson will assume the office of deputy managing director of Placer Pacific on Feb 16 and managing director and chief executive on May 1.
