LETTERS TO THE EDITOR (February 17, 1992)

Every week I read The Northern Miner hoping to see a change in the stability of the mining industry, and yet it never comes. The articles describing the bickering between the provincial and federal governments just keep surfacing.

As a member of the industry since 1984, and now a returned mining engineer student in the U.S., I am finding it difficult to follow my roots back to Canada. Every week I hope to see a resurgence in job prospects and new operations; however, it is to no avail.

What happened to this once great land of untold wealth? Did we forget where the money comes from to pay off our debts?
