New ore lens found at Copper Rand

Definition drilling on three new mineralized lenses at the Copper Rand mine in Chibougamau, Que., has led to the discovery of a fourth.

Property-owner MSV Resources (ME) reports that significant intersections in the fourth lens include: 1.21% copper and 0.14 oz. gold per ton over 10 ft. in Hole 21R345; and 1.23% copper and 0.12 oz. gold over 10 ft. in Hole 21R346. Hole 21R346 also yielded a second interval grading 0.67% copper and 0.09 oz. gold over 11 ft.

According to MSV, 11 holes drilled into the first three lenses had average grades of 2% copper and 0.25 oz. gold.

The four lenses are at the top levels of the mine, in the area of Shaft #4, near existing underground workings.

MSV acquired a 3,000-ton-per-day concentrator and the Copper Rand and Portage mines from Westminer Canada in February.
