As part of an ongoing feasibility study of its Brewery Creek property, Loki Gold (VSE) has released a new estimate of the Yukon project’s geological resource.
Based on a cutoff grade of 0.3 grams gold per tonne, Loki estimates the geological resource in six of eight known zones to be 20.1 million tonnes grading 1.36 grams gold.
Increasing the cutoff to 0.9 grams results in a drop in the resource to about 10.2 million tonnes grading 2.14 grams.
The company expects to release tonnage estimates for the other two zones shortly.
Loki envisages a heap-leach operation and hopes to complete a final feasibility study by May.
Column leach tests on bulk samples have returned recoveries in excess of 80%. Work planned for this year includes upgrading of roads, installation of a construction camp and geotechnical drilling, as well as stripping and site preparation for the leach pad.
In addition, drilling is planned on untested areas between zones and on geochemical anomalies associated with the main structural system at Brewery Creek.
