EXPLORATION ’94 — Bulk sample for Armistice

A bulk-sampling program is planned by Armistice Resources (ME) for its gold property adjoining the old Kerr Addison property at Virginiatown, Ont.

The 11-month, $1.7-million program will involve the extraction of a total of 10,000 tons from three zones (all above 2,250 ft.): Armistice 100N, Sheldon 185N and Sheldon 260N. At the conclusion of the program, the company will decide whether or not to mine the remaining estimated 230,000 tons grading 0.175 oz. gold per ton of reserves indicated by previous exploration work.

Armistice worked the property in the late 1980s, deepening the old shaft to 2,250 ft. and undertaking 1,380 ft. of lateral development and 43,000 ft. of drilling, before running into financial problems.

Future work at the project will include deep underground drilling from 2,250 ft. to test for mineralization believed to be the down-fault of the neighboring Kerr orebody.
