Preliminary drill results from the Bizkaitarra gold concession in Venezuela’s Kilometre 88 region are encouraging for partners Vengold (TSE) and Queenstake Resources (TSE).
To date, results from five of six holes have returned significant intersections, including an 11-metre interval grading 40 grams per tonne. Results from the remaining holes are pending.
Vengold can earn up to a 65% interest in the property from Queenstake. Meanwhile, exploration on the nearby Nueva Alaska concession outlined a system beneath a 1-sq.-km, gold-in-soil anomaly.
Exploration to date, including both auger and diamond drilling, identified two parallel shear zones over a strike length of more than 300 metres. Eight of 10 diamond drill holes intersected significant gold values of up to 0.99 grams over 60 metres and 0.52 grams over 77 metres. Vengold is earning a half interest in the concession from Carson Gold (VSE).
