LABRADOR NEWS ROUNDUP — Drilling planned for Staghorn Lake

The Staghorn Lake region, 90 km north of Voisey Bay, Labrador, is now a priority drill target area for NDT Ventures (VSE).

One of four newly discovered mineralized gossan zones, 8 km in length, contains highly anomalous nickel-copper-cobalt values in norites and leuco norites. Mineralization occurs in stratiform, sub-horizontal zones of disseminated to massive sulphides which are made up of pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, minor bornite and native copper.

Fresh sulphide showings returned assays of up to 1.86% nickel, 0.95% copper and 0.165% cobalt, while grab samples of massive sulphides assayed up to 0.69% nickel and 4% copper.

Mapping, prospecting and hand-trenching are continuing, while a drill rig is being mobilized to the site. Detailed ground geophysics are under way.

The Staghorn Lake area involves Projects 8 through 15, in which NDT has joint-ventured half of its interest separately to five Vancouver-listed companies: Aranlee Resources, Birchwood Ventures, Essex Resource, Layfield Resources and Lumina Investment.

Birchwood is conducting its own exploration program over 17 properties under option from NDT, and expects to commence drilling on Project 9 in the latter part of October.
